My life has changed drastically since I have started soul winning. I started soul winning back in 2002 and it was the scariest thing I had ever done at first. I had been a member of the River at Tampa Bay since December 1996 and wasn’t really involved in soul winning and wasn’t really interested in being involved in soul winning. I loved God and everything but I didn’t understand how soul winning was vitally important to my walk with God.

Since that time I have won hundreds or thousands of people to the Lord and have seen God move miraculously in people’s lives. I do not take any credit for any of the results I have seen on the streets, but it is the Spirit of God that has worked through me, and also me being open to be used by God. I am so grateful for this ministry and the charge that Pastors Rodney and Adonica have given us as a congregation and a challenger for all of us to go to another level in our soul winning. I believe that every believer should be winning souls and if they are not then I really wonder if they are really believers. I am very excited for what God is doing on the streets of Tampa and that I have had the privileged to be a part of changing this city one neighborhood at a time.

My husband and I have been forever changed by the soul winning and will never stop winning souls even if God moves us to another state or country. We will definitely incorporate the soul winning script in our own ministry as well. God has shown me different ways and strategies on how to win different kinds of people to the Lord, and I have seen people through the soul winning script and the compassion of God come to the Lord and their lives change forever.

Being part of the family at the River at Tampa Bay Church has been incredible! I am so glad God called me to be here in such a time as this. God has used me to win many, many souls, and see lives changed of men, women and children. There is only one thing that matters in this life, and that is, obeying the Word of the Lord. He has commissioned us to go into the entire world and preach the Gospel to every creature. We have done it, and have seen the mighty hand of God operating in our behalf. Miracles, and healings are things we see very often, everything the Bible promises is true, you just have to approach it with child like faith.

Another thing that happens is that when you make yourself available, God will use you. You have to remain FAT that is, Faithful, Available, and Teachable. When you truly want to be used of God He will take you, mold you, do a work in you, and you will be an instrument of honor in His hand. Some time ago, I used to be fearful and maybe shy or nervous about sharing the Lord Jesus Christ with others. But when the Holy Spirit touches your life, a boldness to preach the gospel rises inside of you, and you have to, have to tell others about Jesus.

We have been going to some communities to win souls, that in the natural; I would not have gone to. But you get awareness that these people need our Lord, and that Jesus is their only hope, whether they see it or not. We have witnessed to them, even when they were rolling a joint of pot, getting drunk, etc. but the love of the Master impulses us to go. And we will keep on keeping on.

I feel that God is using me greatly and putting the right people in my path supernaturally to witness to. I began soul winning in Washington, DC over summer 2009 as it was introduced to our church from RMI. During the Great Awakening Tour in DC, I was able to get on a microphone at a block party and get 40 persons saved. In Tampa, at a sports game there were about 300 persons there that got saved as I used the microphone. Soul winning has been so real and Luke 4:18-19 has truly come alive on the streets of many cities. It has been great just seeing the impact of what God is doing in people’s lives and seeing the fruit of the work. God gets all the glory and it’s not about us, but about the Lord, as we do His will and stay clean.

I have learned that there are so many people caught up in religion and that think out of their heads and they just need a touch of God, the anointing in their lives, His wonderful presence. When they feel God’s presence as they pray, I can see the power of God transferring into their spirits. While praying over a guy in DC, I remember laying hands on a sick man, with a pain in his stomach, and I felt fire go through the entire left side of my body and I transferred my hands onto his stomach. He could feel the power of God and was instantly healed. Since I began soul winning, God has used me to lead over 700 persons to Christ.

Recently, this past Saturday, while soul winning at USF (University South Florida) campus, there were 3 televisions being given away at the dorms from students moving out. I and 2 other guys with me were blessed with a free television each. God has set it up that there were 3 soul winners and 3 televisions being given away at that very moment. Soul winning, we are laying up treasures in heaven, and also enjoying the blessings here on earth.

Soul winning has been an amazing experience! For years, I have always said that “souls” is the very currency of Heaven. If Jesus came to seek and save the lost and He is our example for living, then we should do what He did: seek the and save the lost! I have always said that the standard for a successful church is the amount of souls that they are saving. I could never figure out how to do it in a manner that would ensure success. It is very simple: bring them quickly to a decision about eternity without condemnation. I remember having spoken to a man about salvation and the person I was partnered with for soul winning led him to Jesus.

Then a Hispanic lady came to the door and I was able to lead her to the Lord in Spanish. As we were finishing, the man had returned and told us of a homeless man whom they had allowed to stay with them for a while. He needed to hear the gospel and we were pulled to the backyard of the home. We spoke with the man briefly and began leading him to Jesus Christ. Upon finishing, we told him of the food ministry and how he could come and get food and have something for himself. He was unsure if he would be on the bus that Sunday.

After service, I was in the foyer of the church that Sunday and a man came up to me and asked where the buses were meeting. I turned and saw the homeless man smiling. He had been in service and was blessed by the anointing of God. He continued to return for several weeks until he moved out of the area.

It is a blessing to see someone to whom you minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ come and find the presence of God in a church home that desires to build the kingdom of God and not just some castle!

When I was younger my parents were evangelists and what they did all the time was teach people how to win souls for the kingdom of God using the soul winning script. Back then I was rebellious and didn’t really know God or have ever accepted the Holy Spirit into my Life. So a few years later I was dragged into going to Busch Gardens with the youth group at the River and since then I’ve gone to the River’s youth group, got filled with the Holy Ghost and praying in tongues.

Since then I still had trouble leading people to Christ, I just haven’t achieved that boldness from God. So after a few years, I decide to go to the River Bible Institute and River School of Worship. In the first quarter, we had a class on soul winning taught by my youth pastor. And we had a requirement to meet the goal of one hundred by the end of the quarter and 13 souls every week. And I was pretty intimidated because my entire life’s soul count was in two digits. So I had to step out of my comfort zone and step into the boldness of God. That quarter my life as a Christian changed completely, in that quarter I led about 110 people to Jesus and haven’t stopped since then. Sure there is days when I don’t lead anyone to Jesus but life comes at you hard and you have Jesus as your shield to protect you.

In ending this story, I just want to say that you have to be sold out for Jesus. Because you can’t show people the Gospel if you haven’t made it complete truth in your life. And you have to be in line with God, you can’t be half on one side and half on the other. I’ve tried that and people you talk to see on your face how your relationship is with the Lord and they won’t want to get saved by you. So make sure that you are in line with God’s word and not doing the things you know are wrong. If you endure and holdfast to the things that Jesus asks you to do, you will be rewarded for your faith in keeping to His word.

Rodney Howard Browne teaches us the importance of character.

Character is a subject that is not discussed in

many circles today. Problems arise when ministries are

growing too fast. In other words, the anointing upon the

person’s life has developed faster than the character of the

individual. Ten or twenty years down the line, it blows up

and the ministry comes to nothing because they didn’t

allow their character to develop.

Rodney Howard Browne tells us that they didn’t walk in the fruit of the Spirit. They

didn’t walk in love. They didn’t walk in the joy of the

Lord. They didn’t work on their marriage. They didn’t

make sure they had a solid foundation at home. They

didn’t take care of their children. Their children end up

backsliding away from God. They end up in a divorce

and things just don’t have a solid foundation.

Counting the Cost

“No one builds a tower unless he counts the cost.”

Do you realize the cost of being involved in the ministry?

It’s glamorous to look like you are going into the

ministry, but have you realized the cost? What price will

you have to pay to walk in that place?

When I started in the ministry, I was, as they say

in the military, gung-ho. I was ready for anything. If God

wanted me to run an arctic expedition and preach to the

Eskimos I would have done it. I was ready to go at the

drop of a hat, without ever finding out what it entailed.

Sometimes it is good to be that way, because if you knew

what was coming up, you wouldn’t go in the first place.

I am reminded when the Gulf War was on and the

young men were going to the Persian Gulf. Different age

groups were going. There were the eighteen-year-olds,

just out of school, who had watched several Rambo

movies. Then there were the guys who were twenty years

older, who had been through the Vietnam War. They

were going out of a different sense of duty.

Rodney Howard Browne explains that the young

man didn’t know what he was getting

himself into. The first time he dives in a fox hole and

those mortars are flying over his head, he suddenly

realizes he is in the middle of war. The older man knew

what the commitment was because he had already faced

the heat of the battle.

Coming Ready or Not

When you first enlist in God’s army, you may not

know what it entails. Sometimes you say, “Lord, I’m

ready for this.” That is the way I was. I would pray,

“Lord, I’m ready for that. Lord, I’m ready to go here.

Lord, I’m ready to do this.”

The Lord said, “Rodney, sit down and shut up.” I

would get upset and complain, and the Lord said, “You

are not ready.”

Then you go through several years of saying, “I’m

not ready, Lord, I’m not ready, I’m not ready.” The Lord

comes to you and says, “Now, Rodney, go and do that.”

“O God, I’m not ready!”

He says, “Yes, you are.”

You see, four or five years ago, you were ready in

your own ability, but now you know you can’t do it in

your own ability. So you are ready in His ability. When

we are not ready in our ability, when we feel the weakest,

that is the time when the Spirit of God can rest the

strongest upon us.

When I Am Weak Then I Am Strong

Like the Apostle Paul said, “When I am weak,

then I am strong” (Second Corinthians 12:10). He was

able to say this in the middle of trials and tribulations.

Paul had a thorn in the flesh, which was not sickness and

disease, but was persecution. Everywhere he went in his

life and ministry, he was either shipwrecked, beaten, left

for dead, spent time in jail, spent a night and a day in the

deep – he always had troubles and persecutions.

Paul prayed, “Lord, remove this thing from me.”

Some people think he got rid of it. No, he didn’t. The

Lord said to him, “No, I’m not going to remove it from

you. My grace is sufficient for you. My anointing is

sufficient for you. My ability is sufficient for you to bear

this persecution.”

So Paul said, “Most gladly therefore will I rather

glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest

upon me” (Second Corinthians 12:9). He didn’t say

anything about sickness. He said, “I will rejoice in my

infirmities and my weaknesses that the power of Christ

may rest upon me.” Remember that the Lord sent Ananias

to Saul to tell him the things he would suffer for the name

of Jesus.

Foundation Scriptures: Luke 19:29-40

And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, 30 saying, “Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. 31 And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you loosing it?’ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’” 32 So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. 33 But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?” 34 And they said, “The Lord has need of him.”35 Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. 36 And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. 37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying: “‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! ‘Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” 40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”  Luke 19:29-40 NKJV

1. The reason we worship.

• They threw their garments over the colt and sat Jesus upon it.
• They spread their garments on the road in front of Him.
• The whole multitude of disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice.

They praised Him for all the mighty works they had seen!

• They said—Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! ‘Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!
• The Pharisees asked Jesus to rebuke His disciples.
• Jesus told them—If they keep silent, the stones will immediately cry out!

2. We praise Him and worship Him—with no restraint or reservation—lifting up our hands; our hearts; our voices—giving Him our all.

Because…

• He is our Savior.
• He is our Deliverer.
• He is our Healer.
• He is the Baptizer in the Holy Ghost and Fire.
• He is our Righteousness.
• He is our Protector.
• He is our Shepherd.
• He is our Provider.
• He is our Rock; our Shelter; our All in All.
• He is our Lord and King.

We cannot be quiet about Him!

3. We must shout it from the mountain-tops to the roof-tops until the whole world knows!
 
If they could wave palm branches and throw their clothes at His feet and raise their voices in praise and adoration to His Name…
…how much more should we worship—we who have been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb and have the Holy Spirit in us to help us worship!

4. Why people don’t worship.

• They are worshipping other things—worshipping idols.
• Idols of TV; sport; movies; possessions; their bellies; etc.
• Worship—you know what you worship—it’s what you give your time, attention and money to.
• Idol worship is rife in the 21st century church.

It’s time to worship the King! It’s time to praise Him! It’s time to give Him glory!

I visited a nursing home. I told a woman God loves her and she cried. I told her to say the confession and I cried, it was wonderful! Next, I prayed with a man and he witnessed to me and we prayed together. This experience has changed my life. I am so happy for this. Christ Jesus of Nazareth has never left Nazareth, HIS grace and power is still here and working wonders beyond anything a mortal man can understand. This morning I was invited to visit an Arabian lady ninety years old. Her daughter Badjia had invited me for a meal at her house a week prior to visiting her mother. Her daughter said we were eight in the family; my father died when I was 3 and my mother held the family together, we lived near the market here in Nazareth. But my mother has never given her life into the hands of Christ Jesus, she knows all about him, will you come with us to my mothers’ home and invite her to receive Christ as her savior? And the greatest miracle is salvation; the lady of 90 years gave her life to Christ this day and also a lady visiting her said yes to Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus has blessed this family, the 90 year old lady told me my mother read out of the bible to me and I listened. She went on to say my mother told me never to take advantage of others for any reason and I never have. I have great joy in giving and not asking for something, it is not my way. How can I say Christ Jesus is here in Nazareth, she the 90 year old lady has a family first second third generation all with Christ Jesus. The daughter Badjia has three daughters all married to men with Christ Jesus as Lord of their life. And very interesting the three daughters all have grandchildren with the Lord they live here with their families in

Nazareth one daughter is married to a American, one to a Egyptian, one to a Jew. From generation to generation HIS great grace has flown in this godly family, praise him from whom all blessings flow. AmenJerome J.
