Rodney Howard Browne – Xan H. Testimony

When I was younger my parents were evangelists and what they did all the time was teach people how to win souls for the kingdom of God using the soul winning script. Back then I was rebellious and didn’t really know God or have ever accepted the Holy Spirit into my Life. So a few years later I was dragged into going to Busch Gardens with the youth group at the River and since then I’ve gone to the River’s youth group, got filled with the Holy Ghost and praying in tongues.

Since then I still had trouble leading people to Christ, I just haven’t achieved that boldness from God. So after a few years, I decide to go to the River Bible Institute and River School of Worship. In the first quarter, we had a class on soul winning taught by my youth pastor. And we had a requirement to meet the goal of one hundred by the end of the quarter and 13 souls every week. And I was pretty intimidated because my entire life’s soul count was in two digits. So I had to step out of my comfort zone and step into the boldness of God. That quarter my life as a Christian changed completely, in that quarter I led about 110 people to Jesus and haven’t stopped since then. Sure there is days when I don’t lead anyone to Jesus but life comes at you hard and you have Jesus as your shield to protect you.

In ending this story, I just want to say that you have to be sold out for Jesus. Because you can’t show people the Gospel if you haven’t made it complete truth in your life. And you have to be in line with God, you can’t be half on one side and half on the other. I’ve tried that and people you talk to see on your face how your relationship is with the Lord and they won’t want to get saved by you. So make sure that you are in line with God’s word and not doing the things you know are wrong. If you endure and holdfast to the things that Jesus asks you to do, you will be rewarded for your faith in keeping to His word.

What God did this past Sunday morning at the River Christmas outreach was absolutely amazing. I had the privilege of being a part of the bus ministry. I was able to go into the neighborhoods of people, parents, children living in poverty. One of the things that impacted me the most was the expectation level of people getting on the bus that morning. Specifically the children’s hunger and expectation level shocked me. Even before we would arrive at a stop, you could see the children running out so they wouldn’t miss the bus. I was amazed at the excitement that these people have; not just for the food boxes they were to receive, but to get on the bus, to experience the love of God.

Even when praying for people on the bus you could see the hunger and desperation in their eyes for hope.
I was able to be a helper in the Kids Church as well. Just realizing that for a lot of kids you are the only they have to who God is and knowing His love is once a week.

When I saw these people on the way home, many of them had totally changed. Their was not a person who didn’t get on the bus to go home that day that hadn’t been impacted for eternity. When you see the same people that you’ve met on the streets; the same people that you prayed with and invited to come to get on the bus to come to church; when you see those same people not only get on the bus, but get radically touched and changed, it is the greatest reward. To know that God is using me to plant seeds and not only that but also to see the harvest of souls being reaped at the same time- it’s all there is to live for. This Sunday engrained in me even more the reason Dr. Rodney Howard Browne does what he does; the reason I’m here is to carry out the Great Commission- to see lives rescued from the pit of hell and given the blessed hope of going to heaven. To see despair, depression and hopelessness, exchanged for eternal purpose and eternal hope is what I live for. It’s the only thing worth living for.

The more lives you see impacted these people it’s breaks your heart and challenges you use every moment for eternity.

The first thing that really jumps out in my memory about the Matters of the Heat lecture was the way Pastor Adonica explained how to deal with situations and speak to circumstances. She said to think of the word of God as a court of law and say, “This is what the word says! It says I can have it! It is my right!” Then we should stamp it as a done deal! I’ve never heard it put that way. It was like a light bulb came on.
I learned a great deal about obedience and that delayed obedience is disobedience. The Holy Spirit is speaking to us all the time and we should let him guide us, but we shouldn’t just sit around and wait for him to speak. It is easier to direct something if it is already moving. We should always be sensitive and discern whether something is coming from the heart or if it is coming from some emotion. God always speaks to the heart. We should always obey and be faithful to what God is speaking to our heart because someone’s life depends on it. Matthew 16:27 says that there is a reward for what we do in obedience to the Holy Spirit. Rebellion and disobedience always have negative consequences.

Pastor Adonica also taught us that sometimes we have to let people deal with their own “can of worms”. We should not carry our own or other peoples offenses and we shouldn’t let what other people say affect us. We should not put up walls, but we should guard our heart. We also need to watch our mouth as we watch the attitude of our heart for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

These are all things I have learned from Pastor Adonica. I could still go on much further about what I gained out of her class. It was an awesome week! I hope that she will be teaching many more classes.

Imagine going to bed hungry or even as a child waking up with nothing under you Christmas tree. Even better yet imagine a world where you feel completely unloved. This is what Dr. Rodney Howard-Brown of the River Tampa church in Tampa Fl is working against. I am not only proud to be a part of this group under Dr. Rodney but I am honored to see how many lives’s we are truly changing.
At the River Church Dr. Rodney has set up an amazing food ministry were they feed over 500 families a week with a box of food that will last them through the week. This part of the ministry is my favorite; we see people’s lives changing every day when we go out telling them about the food ministry. To see mothers eyes go from sad to happy when she realizes that she will have food for her children that week.
This past week we handed out toys to needy families and in the process of doing that we had 374 people turn their lives over to God. I unfortunately did not get to be a part of this even. However I wish I was there the testimonies of my friend about the event touched my heart so much hearing how people were crying and thanking them or how kids who just need someone to show them love got just that.
You see for me what this church is doing to reach out to families in the city of Tampa is amazing to see. How many people can say that they truly have impacted the lives of people around not only by giving those gifts but by loving them and showing them how much Jesus Christ loves them? How many people can say that they have made an impact on the people around them and know that beyond a shadow of a doubt that those people will forever be changed? This is what Dr. Rodney Howard- Brown is doing in Tampa Fl he is making a change in the lives of people in the community and the city but not just any change he is making the greatest change of all he is showing the people that he truly cares about them.

Winter Campmeeting 2010 | Mary Fowler Testimony

The “Winter Campmeeting 2010” for me was one of the most powerful ones to date. The afternoons were so awesome; it would have been easy just to continue on for the evening service at 7:00 pm without breaking.

I operated the camera for the afternoon meetings and a few of the night services. We have pre-production meetings an hour before each service and a few times the joy of the Holy Ghost would hit us and all we could do was laugh. We would stagger out to the Lobby, get stuck there for a few minutes and then on to the cameras.

During the services it seemed the Holy Spirit was touching the ushers, the singers, and the camera operators. These are usually the ones that try to stay focused and they were getting blitzed. One night in particular, I believe was Thursday, all Heaven broke loose and all I can say is WOW!

A first year student named Steve was leaping all over the place and then took off in a run. I was on Camera 2 laughing so hard and yet still able to get the important shot. Joy was breaking out over the whole crowd. Steve went all the way around the building and I could see he was going to come over to where another first year student was standing. I had the camera ready for when he came and man, he hit John and they took off running and I think my tally light was on so we were capturing it. I was standing up and ready for crowd shots.

Then Pastor Rodney went after the shoulder cam guy, Braxton. He went down and Pastor grabbed the Klearcom and began to shout “Filled “into the speaker. The first time he said it, I was holding on with everything in me. Then he said it a second time; I grabbed my chair, feeling the fire inside and knowing I was losing it. I finally just let go, hit the deck and began laughing so hard.

The next night, a lady came up to me to share what happened to her husband when I hit the deck. She said her husband used to work as Control Room Engineer. He was in a wheelchair sitting real close to my camera podium. She said he knew what was going to happen when Pastor got the Klearcom. He saw me get hit with power of God and tried to get up to help me so I wouldn’t fall on the floor. LOL! When I hit the deck the power of God jumped on him and he fell out under the power of God in his wheelchair.

The meetings would go from one degree of His glory to the next. I didn’t want them to stop and many people’s lives were dramatically changed.
